The cutest Project Life Kit!

How stink'n cute is this kit... BY FAR "MY FAV"!!
More information on this kit is available on Heidi Swapp's blog.

I haven't been around on the blog in a really long time... Guess I need to dust off the O'L blogging ground and get back to it!

I ran out and bought this kit like every other excited PLifer' I know!!! I was so excited to get it home and work with it I almost called off work... but I had a deadline so I waited...

On Friday night I sat down with this lovely baby and took all the cards out... smelled them... flipped through them I didn't want to miss one detail! and then... My mom came to my home with a surprise... THE VALUE KIT!

So with that said... Lets get down to business!

Supplies:

1- Piece of 4x3 card stock (Base)
2- 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 squares of pattern paper (Layer 1 and 2)
1-2x3 (ish) tag
1- Chipboard Arrow
1-Chipboard heart
2- blue brads
1- Enamal dot (or melted bead)
White and black ink!

* and all of your normal crafting supplies! i.e. scissors, adhesives, glue dots, etc.

Before you start cutting! Please look at the back of the zig-zag card... Notice at the top of the card there is a saying... (Look at the saying on my PL card) make sure to cut that card down to a 2 1/2 square without cutting into that sign! Also, save your scraps! I will show you were I used them on the rest of the spread!

Next, use your corner rounder (I love my Crop-a-dile). If you choose to round great if not That is alright as well! Its PROJECT your LIFE...

After you have cut your paper to size its time for inking! I fill that ink just finishes off any piece of paper! In the picture you will see that I have inked the black background with white and the other colors with black... Using the black on the colored papers brought the bold black theme across the entire spread!

I used very little black because I didn't want it to take over the color of the pattern paper!

I adhered the patterned paper to the page offsetting them just a bit from one another and NOT centering them on the background! I knew at this point I was going to place the arrow and such on the other side so I knew it would be "heavy" enough!

In order to achieve the look I have with the tag coming out both sides of the sign as well as the arrow coming out of both ends of the heart you will have to cut both the arrow and the tag in half! (ITS OK... Breath... IT IS OK TO CHOP THE EMBELLY IN HALF...)

Once this is complete I would suggest laying the elements out so you can see how they are going to look when you glue them down! Make your adjustments now...

I have also used a curvy piece of transparency tucked behind the saying... I am pretty sure that came in a Basic Grey embellishment pack but I am not 100% sure... If you are reading this and know where I got it please comment below! I will update to provide the link!

Thats it! Done... Here are the other parts to this layout!

The Card inside the protector! and 2 very lovely ladies next to it!
The "Favorites" is a transparency from Heidi Swapps "My Fav." value kit! I put a piece of washi tape and a star clip to pull the black to this side and AND DONE!

Remember the scraps I mentioned... I have used a Timmy die cut and Sizzix tag with another chipboard circle from the value pack. In my project life I like to journal about each of my children so that when they are reading this in 30 years their is a piece of each of them not just a jumble of "the event".

So this is my daughter Dion and she HATES the beach sand... She prefers to shop with her Moui (Grandma)!

AAAAAAANNNND the finished project layout looks like this!!! (The brown background is not part of the book it is my tile flooring)

Personally, I think that Heidi knew that my family would be at the beach in lovely shades of pink and blue... So she designed this kit with me in mind!

Hope you enjoyed!

Feed back is key! Any and All!

  1. Really love your style! So jealous of your new goodies (we don't get stuff like that here in South Africa) Any more cards you made/altered?
