Farm Fresh Friday challenge!!!

This week over at The Greeting Farm blog they challenge was to use "Green and white". I just love these super cute stamps they come up with. I follow the challenge I used a white and green polka dot paper back ground and then colored the little girl to match. I also used a Glaze pen to make her look like she has mascara on as well as patent leather shoes.

The paper I used is from the Hip Kit Club- March. I have been really impressed with the items in each of these kits! They have really hit my style on the head! I added a few sequins and a Prima flower and we are done!

Thanks for stopping by!

Ingredients Challenge!

So, over at the Victoria Marie Facebook page she did a challenge where she posted a set of ingredients and we were to do some sort of layout with those items...

The ingredients are:

1) Three patterned papers
2) One solid paper
3) At least 5 die cuts
4) Mixed media (of your choice)
5) A textured element (i.e. cork, wood veneer, acetate, etc).

I used a ton of pattern paper so #1 check!!! The background is a solid paper #2 check!! The 5 die cuts are all the tags with words on them #3 check!!! Mixed media modeling paste tinted with Inks pink hearts #4 check!!! AND LASTLY THE CORK HEARTS!!!! 5 CHECK!

I didn't realize how hard ingredients would be... I figure naaa its just a list... but its a lot harder to go with someone else list then it is to freely select items!

The pictures are from my backyard when some lovely bugs paid us a visit!! Here are some more photos of the layout as well as photos I took in my backyard of the bugs!!

I love nature and watching it happen but I have to admit the bees are the most amazing thing... they carry the honey on the side like saddle bags...

Stuffed Zucchini

STUFFED ZUCCHINI

  • Large zucchini, sliced lengthwise then scoop out the seeds but leave about an inch on each end which will make your "boat".
  • Ground beef (Or Turkey...)
  • 2 chopped red/yellow/green peppers in any combination
  • 1 purple onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar
  • 1 pk of cream cheese
  1. Cook the ground beef, onion, and bell peppers
  2. In a large bowl, add beef, cheddar, and cream cheese.
  3. Spoon mixture into each zucchini boat.
  4. Put shredded cheese on top.
  5. Bake 400* for 30 minutes. Depending on the size of the zucchini you may have to cook it a bit longer.
  6. Top with a bit of sour cream and call it DINNER...

1st YouTube Video!!

Well the time has come I have created my first YouTube video... and let me tell you it was difficult... it was a disaster and I don't believe it is all that "clear" but for my first try I am going to accept it with all its flaws.. IT IS WHAT IT IS..

This week I completed the Week 1 spread for 2015... I did the unthinkable... I mixed kits, I cut cards, I chop'n embellishments... but in the end.. I LOVE IT! Here are some pictures for those of you (us) that don't really do a lot on YouTube! For those that love a good comedy show... please stop by my YouTube view! Link to YouTube

Project Life-2015 Cover page!

Today, I wanted to share my 2015 cover page! It is a "Becky Higgins-Design H" protector sheet. I didn't want to do the full page because I knew that i wanted the picture on the bottom to be the focus and I didn't take any other pictures that day to go with it! So simple, not picture heavy, and says it all!

Over at Victoria Marie's FB Group she posted a challenge to incorporate hearts on the layout... Which seemed fitting for my children's picture! I just love these babies soooo much! Additional, closeups of the different cards below!

I just love this picture of my kids... I wish I could stop time... Right at this age!

I even choose 1 word for this year "Patient" because heaven knows I am not that!

I used a black gel pen to outline the black card
(you can see it on the polka dot card better)
and I even "Gold Splattered" for the first time!

Sketch Challenge

THE SKETCH!
The Challenge!
THE RESULT!
I had such a good time making this layout!  I haven't done a 12x12 layout in a very very long time (like... 7years) so talk about a challenge... I attempted another sketch that involved 6 photos and I was so overwhelmed I almost gave in on the challenge but instead I searched the net for something easier... I figured 1 photo was a better place to start... and I would have to say I am very happy with the result! Some additional photos below!

I used texture paste and  Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks to create texture and custom colors on the stars... The paper and embellies are
My Minds Eye "Boy Crazy".  All supplies can be purchased at Scrapbooking with ME! with the exception of the paper... It is pretty old!

I didn't think about doing the different colors of stars being that big that difficult... but I also didn't put into consideration that the ink colors would stain the paper (my first time coloring the paste) and I had to wait until one color dried to apply the second color...

I knew when I seen the robot he would be used in this layout. I wasn't sure how or where he would fit in however... HE WILL BE ON THE LAYOUT! Well here he is... holding a card that explains this photo to a "T". The photo is of my husband and son.. They had been playing outside all day... and decided to take a moment for a drink and shade... About 2 mins after I snapped this picture they were back out in the dirt being well... BOYS!

Thank you for taking a moment to check out my blog!!!

I shall get back to making projects to share!

"Simple Challenge"

Tonight, I decided to join in the fun over at The Greeting Farm their "Farm Fresh Friday Challenge" this weeks challenge was "Simple".

And for those of you who truly know me... you know nothing I do is "simple" so challenge accepted!

The supply list:

-Copics
-Angel Anya Stamp
-Prima "Anna Marie" paper
- White and Blue card stock
-Hemp
-sequins
-metal charm
-flat back rinestones
-white embossing powder
-Close to my heart D1171-New fallen snow stamps set

The card is a 5 1/2x4; the blue is 5 1/4x 3 3/4; the white is 5x3 1/2 with the white embossed snowflakes. I also used liquid glass on her bow and wings as well as the Wink of Stella glitter pen (Love that sucker) I also stamped and colored a 2nd stamp so that I could cut it out and pop dot her wings.

I wrapped the hemp around and tied a not for the dangle charm (I have no clue where I got it, if you know please feel free to leave me a comment and I will update to include the link)

Close up of the embossing and the sequins. I really like the details in the stamp! This was a really fun "simple" card challenge. It was anything but easy but a nice venture outside of my artistic zone!
